What is your favorite scent?
What is your favorite scent? Do you wear scented products regularly? Do you prefer fruity, spicy, or floral scents, or maybe the smell of a nice warm meal.
I recently read an article from Psychology Today online and it said that investigators found that;
“The pleasantness of smells is heavily influenced by universal principles”.
“A plethora of research has demonstrated that odor does influence perception via mood induction and changes in arousal”
Attractiveness is also influenced by scent.
Vanilla was rated the most popular scent. When I was in high school, I loved the smell of vanilla, lavender, chocolate, autumn spices (still among my favorites), I also like to get my scented candles, home fragrances and scented lotions. Now that I’m in my thirties I have found that I love a signature perfume, and I have been wearing Versace “Yellow Stone” this past year.
How important are scents to you? Does it make you feel nostalgic? Is there one that you associate with joy?
scented candles?
flowers?
nature?
rain hitting the earth . . . petrichor?
perfume?
Mom’s cooking?
the aroma of baking?
French fries? Pizza?
Coffee?
Babies?
Books?
Your scent doesn’t have to be a perfume, it can be something that reminds you of home or your childhood. My favorites vary based on different aspects of my life. I sometimes will boil orange peels, vanilla, and cinnamon sticks. It makes the house smell yummy. I also love the smell of sautéed onion & garlic, babies, toasted sugar, and fresh bread.
What are some of your favorite scents? Would love to hear your favorite scents too in the comments!
