The Choice between Motherhood and Career

A woman’s standing has changed over the years. In the past women were forced to decide between choosing a career or stay at home with the child. Now we are able to combine the both motherhood and business ambitions! As women continue to work on equal rights, and even take more and more leading positions in business. But sometimes the cost of choosing a career is having an unpredictable personal life or even lack of it. Sometimes the price of success is the dismissal of motherhood duties or later motherhood. So, what drives women to choose their careers in the first place? Why do we leave our children at home a month after birth and have to come back to work?

Maybe……

  • The main reason is that women try to become independent of men….

  • For fear of not finding the right partner for marriage….

  • Because of financial and living conditions…

  • Many women are forced to come back to work in couple weeks after give birth due to lack of money and a fear of losing their jobs.

If you’re a mom and you work or MUST work what are the contributing factors for that decision? How has that decision played a role in your mental health, family life, and personal life? How do you do it all? What does a typical week look like for you? What supports and systems do you have in place or would need?

Twenty years ago, the role of women was the childbirth and their education, and the role of men was to get money for his family. Now women are eager to get good education, get leader positions in a business and even open their own business.
